1) Evaluation and Admission -- During the evaluation phase, prospective patients receive an in-depth assessment of their individual needs. Depending on the severity and nature of the drug or alcohol addiction, an individual may be admitted to our program and undergo medical detoxification and inpatient treatment. Individuals whose drug or alcohol dependency does not pose an immediate health threat, and who are able to receive appropriate medical treatment without admission into our center, are referred to intensive outpatient services.

2) Detoxification -- After admission into our treatment center, patients undergo medical stabilization. During this phase, addiction specialists provide detoxification services that are based on scientifically tested and validated protocols, ensuring a safe and effective treatment. Our medical staff is available 24 hours a day to monitor and support patients through the delicate drug or alcohol withdrawal process.

3) Inpatient Rehab -- Inpatients undergoing drug or alcohol rehab participate in therapeutic activities that are tailored to their unique medical, psychological, and spiritual needs. In addition, the families of adult and adolescent patients are given the opportunity to join Lighthouse's comprehensive family program.

4) Intensive Outpatient Services -- Patients who are ready to participate in Lighthouse's intensive outpatient treatment attend group and individual sessions three nights a week, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Family sessions for these outpatients are held one night a week.

5) Outpatient Services -- At this stage, patients meet three hours a week for group therapy. These sessions cover various topics, including strategies for relapse prevention, coping skills, family and interpersonal relationships, as well as other drug or alcohol dependency issues.

6) Discharge Planning/Relapse Prevention -- From the beginning of treatment, Lighthouse assists patients with discharge planning, development of a lifestyle plan, and identifying relapse warning signs and strategies. Using Gorski Relapse Prevention Therapy, Lighthouse specialists identify each patient's stage of recovery and develop a plan of action suited to the individual's lifestyle.
